Awesome. Had a problem with Divx saying that the video file requires AC3 audio and after installing this into my computer I didn't had to do anything but restart the video and it works.

It worked like a charm! recommend it for windows 7 computers.

I had the problem with divx player talking about some missing audio codec and after installing this and restarting divx player the sound now plays ! perfect

This version working well with Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium.
It is one of the few audio codecs I get to work right with the AMD/ATI video decoder to compress HD Television recordings.

OMG!!!! WHy did I not search for this before??? Everytime I play a file with AC3 in the name, the audio does not play well!!! Finally did a search and I d/l this codec and it worked!!!!! ME SO HAPPY!!!!! I get to watch all my movies now!!!

Some people have said "This fixed my problem in 10 seconds" even that is pessimistic... 5 is more like it! (and no noticeable system slow down after running on and off for a week or so!) Great download - Highly recommended!

My experience with AC3 Filter is like many of the other reviews. I can build my own PC but I don't know much at all about codecs, so I needed some help. I have a Sony videocam that saves in MPEG format but the clips would only play with audio if I used Sony's proprietary software ("Picture Motion Browser"). That's great to view raw footage but no good for editing something into a polished piece with Adobe Premiere, or viewing in Windows Media Player. Sony's tech support was not helpful at all.

I found out about AC3 Filter via a Google search, tried it and it works. I don't know how it works, but it makes my camera's MPEG files "play nice" with the programs I mentioned. Runs in the background, didn't require me to adjust any settings or actually do anything. In it's config screen it even says that--basically "if you don't know what you're doing, don't mess with any of this here". I didn't. It works great!
